Battery Safety

Lithium batteries power many everyday electronics, including vape mods. Because of their power and capacity, they carry some built-in risks. Please read these safety tips before you use, charge or carry your batteries.

Never put loose or uncovered battery cells in a pocket, purse or bag, where they can touch keys, coins or other metal objects. Carry spare batteries in a plastic battery case.

Charging

  • Use only properly rated cables, adapters and chargers for your batteries and devices.
  • Don’t leave batteries charging unattended for long periods.
  • Don’t charge batteries near anything flammable.

Everyday use and storage

  • Don’t run your batteries all the way down (over-discharge).
  • Don’t leave batteries in hot places, like a car or direct sunlight.
  • For long-term storage, keep batteries at about half charge, not full.

Check, replace and recycle

  • Check your batteries and chargers often. If you see a torn wrap, dents, swelling or any other damage, stop using them and dispose of them safely.
  • Replace batteries about every 6 months.
  • Bring old or damaged batteries to any Knoxville Vapor shop and we’ll recycle them for you.
